Hyatt has introduced its first Hyatt Centric property in the Caribbean with the opening of Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo, offering a contemporary gateway to the Dominican Republic’s capital.

Situated in the Ensanche Piantini neighborhood, the hotel places travelers near Santo Domingo’s mix of historical and modern attractions, from shopping and dining to the UNESCO-designated Colonial Zone, featuring landmarks like Alcazar de Colon and the Cathedral of the Americas.

The First in the Caribbean

Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo marks the first Hyatt Centric branded hotel in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, joining more than 60 other Hyatt Centric hotels globally.

General Manager Luis Emilio Gomez Garcia highlights the hotel’s prime positioning: “Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo offers a launchpad for guests to connect with the city’s best. As the first Hyatt Centric in the Dominican Republic, we’re excited to provide experiences that blend Piantini’s culture and historic charm.”

Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo is an appealing choice for your clients seeking Hyatt’s known brand with an added touch of the location. The 130 guestrooms and suites, designed with Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel’s ceramics, reflect Antillean culture. The hotel’s common spaces also celebrate Santo Domingo’s heritage with colorful sculptures, carnival masks, and artwork by local artist Patricio Correa.

Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo places guests at the heart of Santo Domingo’s culinary landscape, home to four diverse dining options. Aon Food & Mood, on the lobby level, blends island and international flavors with locally sourced ingredients in an elevated buffet setting. The Lobby Bar invites guests to enjoy afternoon tea, wine or live evening music. For a rooftop experience, Burble Rooftop Bar offers a resident DJ, poolside snacks, smoothies by day and cocktails with city views by night. Cafe Caobana, located on the lobby terrace, serves Dominican pastries and beverages in a lush garden setting.

With amenities like 55-inch HDTVs, free WiFi and versatile spaces, the new hotel is an ideal base for clients exploring the Dominican capital, offering both cultural immersion and upscale relaxation.
